first three shots are soft, now this could be down to where you were focusing, using auto focus instead of single auto focus point would help buy selecting the focus point that is closest to your subjects eyes and placing it on it.

    1st shot
focus point to me is focused on the window handle, just before the hand, door frame is distracting, plaster line going through the neck of the subject, wake her up!!! :), brighten up the subject by adding flash or wait for a brighter day for light to fall through the window.

    2nd shoot
nice composition, would like to see more of the eyes, again focus seems to be problem, when focusing make sure when you have half pressed the shutter you dont change your position either going forward or backwards.

    3rd shoot
nice one again, although the line is cutting her eye and smile, focusing again,

check your manual read not just once but twice in fact read it again, check out utube handy videos explaining everything you need to know about photography and can help you on focusing.
to be fear you are on the right road and using your imagination, all you have to do now is learn to use your camera and get out of auto and into manual or other.

    best of luck and enjoy

Good advice from Philip, you will soon learn the layout of your camera and experiment with
different settings, dont be afraid to digital is fantastic for that as it costs nothing, the last shot
is nice a little bit of fill flash would have brightened the faces up for you, most cameras have a
reset facility that will bring the camera back to factory settings so you dont have worry about
remembering what you did where. Welcome to the site too :)
