Ban on airbrushed images in UK
-
miki gParticipant
An advertising ban on airbrushed images in the UK may be a good thing. Hopefully it won’t have photographers up in arms about their rights being violated. :)

bigalguitarpickerParticipantNot before time I think! Some of the models featured in magazines have ludicrous editing done to them, particularly in the “Lads Mags”. Some of the software advertised for “improving” portraiture uses ridiculous editing too. I saw one recently which featured before and after shots of a lovely model who had freckles. Needless to say, not a single freckle survived the “improvement”. Am I alone in thinking that “natural” looks better than the celluloid complexions foisted on us by air-brush happy editors?
MarkKeymasterI’m with you Al.
Aside from false advertising, over eager processing is only providing distorted views of what people should look like.
Fine when you know better, but as we all know there are plenty of people out there aspiring to look like something which
is rarely if ever physically possible to achieve.miki gParticipantI would be of the same opinion. You wouldn’t buy a Fiat Panda that was manipulated to look like a Ferrari, but was still a Panda under the bonnet. Advertising (whether for beauty products or not) should be kept as close to reality as possible.
There are lots of really beautiful girls out there that don’t even need any makeup to look great, but lack confidence in themselves, mainly because they can’t be like some of the Frankenstein creations that appear in some of the glossy magazines.
I’m all for girls of ” natural beauty ” even if they do weigh a little bit more than a stick insect should & even have freckles. :DcypeapplejuiceParticipantmiki g wrote:
