This is a shot I took from a boat on a snorkelling trip off the Islands near Koh Samui in Thailand a while back.

    Hi Feargal,

I hope you had a good time in such a lovely place.

The scene without the rock looks like it would have made an interesting photograph with
it’s lovely pastel colours and the different shades of blue.

I know you had to make do with the light available when you were there but I think the rock
needs some light on it to show up those textures and bring the image to life.

The horizon has a slight slope which is easily fixed.
Not easy to take a photograph in a moving boat. :)

I do see the face of the title or I think I do anyway. :?

    Cheers,

    John.

Obviously a great place to see, but as John has said both the lighting and focus could have been kinder to you.

Hey thanks for the critique and comments. I can see what you mean about the lighting t’wasn’t the best really. Being overcast meant that I couldn’t make the shutter speeed as fast as I’d have liked to combat all that boat rocking. The slope doesn’t bother me so much though, cause it is extremely slight and a perfectly flat horizon isn’t always so important to me. I’m going to brighten it up a bit on the computer and maybe ease up on the contrast and I reckon it’ll pass muster. Cheers for taking a look.
