I had the chance to go to Paris for a day on my own recently…what a beautiful place!Hope you like some of these pics of in and around the Eiffel Tower.

Joe.RASMITH32MemberHi J, I love the second shot here. Find it a very striking image. The background light is a bit blown but It stands up for me. Possibly over processed (slightly) . No 1 is nice too though I find myself thinking I want to see more of the image , maybe lanscape as opposed to portrait. In the 3rd the tower is leaning just a little too much.
Nice shots
jodal1975Participantnice set… i have to say the 2nd is a magnificent shot! i think the processing is perfect , yes the sky is blown out , but i think it really suits it .
well donesndipoMemberWeirdly have to agree, second shot is probably nothing within the “rules” but I like it, as well :) Haven’t been to Paris myself yet so looking forward to going there even more now :)
Joey CParticipantThanks a mil for comments folks – all appreciated, on the 2nd RAS, its defo blown out a bit – its not on the original but i wanted it in Lomo style and liked the burst from the centre effect it gives, it might need to be toned down if i want to print it though. On the 3rd, i tried straightening it alright but it just dosen’t look right to me whichever way i did it (prob cos i didn’t take it straight on but at an angle) so i took the flower in the middle as the focal point. The first image was taken in portrait cos i couldn’t fit it in landscape from where i was (17 mm on a 400d w 1.6 crop factor)…enough excuses from me! thanks a mil again RAS Jodal and Vee
np72ParticipantGood set, I think the 3 shots on their own stand out very well, though of the 3 of them, I think the second looks good, and the Lomo effect really suits it very well, and just about makes it the best of the 3 for me.
alpacaParticipantJoey CParticipantThanks Nigel n Alan, I havn’t checked my mail in a bit..the Lomo effect can be downloaded as a preset for Lightroom (and proably PS i’d imagine)..the preset is ok (at first i didn’t like it) but obviously you can use it as a starting point to play with to get ur own style etc. – worth checkin out if its a style you like.
thanks again.
joeShutterlightMembervoicuParticipantshutterbugParticipantJoey CParticipantfguihenParticipantall awesome! Im hopefully off to paris in the next few weeks and was looking for inspiration for more than just the standard postcard image of the tower! you have sparked my imagination!
I really like the first one but im jus a sucker for images that show of architectural wonders in full in a beautiful night setting.
DeeboParticipantVery strong set. Second for me but might need some more room on right. Been to Paris five times in last two years but too busy with work for client to get much images.
