Flower girl portraits

My niece was a flower girl at a recent wedding. I wasn’t at the wedding so she dressed up again so Aunty Susie could take some photos of her :)

    Thanks for looking,
    Susie

    Hi Phillip,
I used the 50mm 1.4 for all… Is the last one too soft or should more be in focus?

looks fine to me, but using a lens 1.4 gives very little room to get the shot spot on, any little movement after locking focus could blur the shot, you would just get as good as a shot at 2.8 or higher.

Yeah, I hear you Phillip – this was at 1.6… So next time I have my niece over, I will experiement further with different apertures… Not long at this malarky :)

nice shots. lovely and sharp. gorgeous eyes and lovely smile. Your lucky to have such a cutie in the family to practise on. 2 things to look out for next time. Some of her hair looks blown out to me and part of her dress( in last one). also the saturation maybe be pumped up to much as her face looks a tad too red for me. still Gorgeous images and she will be delighted with them.

Thank you kindly for the feedback – much appreciated!! I am very lucky that Katie enjoys getting her photo taken!! :)
I see what you are saying about the hair being blown out a little & her face being red – although she does have very fair hair & high colouring in her cheeks normally – her face can be quite red at times. But it is something I will look out for again. Thanks again, Susie :)
