Rediculous memory limit in Photoshop elements9

Im making a fairly large panorama in PSE 9. When the pano is made, PS asks me if i want the edges filled ( content aware fill). It then tells me there is not enough ram.
I have a pc with 8gb of ram, and less than 5gb are being utilized yet photoshop says its all RAM’ed out.
I upgraded to PSE9 mainly for content aware fill, and now its useless.Anyone else find this limitation?
Make sure it is being allowed as much RAM as possible in performance preferences. Other than that all you can do is use smaller images
