Quite a fascinating scene you have found here as implements from a bygone era
are always interesting to view.
I think the the tones in your conversion really suit the subject too.
I’m no expert but I think there is a better photograph to be had here.
The area of white sky, in my opinion, takes away from the image and maybe you should have
composed to exclude it.
The area to the LHS of the image looks quite cluttered and I think adds nothing to the image.
I wonder if you had positioned yourself so the sky was excluded and used a wide aperture so that that
fabulous machine in the forground was in focus while the gear at the back was blurred.
This would have concentrated all the viewers attention on the main subject.
That said it’s quite a nice image and maybe the scene is worth a revisit.
As always these are just opinions and intended to help.
Thanks so much. I actually find what you said so helpful. I knew I liked some aspects of the image and some I didn’t but I couldn’t pinpoint what exactly. Your comments have pointed out pretty much exactly what I was subconsciously aware of.
We go out there quite a bit as our 2-year-old loves animals so I’ll try a better composition.
Really appreciate you taking the time to comment. I love this forum. :)
