Hi All,
I’m on the look out for a Nikon 60mm macro lens.
If anyone out there has one please let me know.
Thanks.Mark Barry

It’s the older 60mm f/2.8D version [some say better than the newer version] – it’s in tip top condition. No box but both end caps. Not a scratch on it. Very nice lens indeed. Selling to fund a 70-200.
Looking for 300, interested?
MarkdeBarraParticipantAfter checking out the version offered by Cagey, it seems I really need the new version.
Anyone out there that can help me?
Thanks.CageyParticipantAny specific reason you need the newer version?
“The older AF-D has slightly better optics. It has less distortion, less falloff wide-open and 50% more working distance.”
So says Ken Rockwell. And almost any review you look up on the D version.
Willing to let it go for €260 if you change your mind ;)
If the reason is you’re using a camera that it won’t auto-focus on, like a D40/60 – remember, most macro work is done using manual focus anyway.
MarkdeBarraParticipantHi Cagey,
Sorry I’m a bit late on the replys. Not at a computer as regular as I’d like.
The main reason is I will be manly using it underwater. I take you point of the older version being better but manual focus is hard (not inpossible) in the underwater housing I’m using. I’m resonably new at this so I’m open to been told otherwise.
I am using a Nikon D7000.
The Fine PrintMemberI think it’d be a toss up underwater. I’ve been using the old version (60mm AF-D) underwater on film and digital cameras since 1995. No AF issues to me and a bit move breathing space over the newer one I’d say, offset by a marginally slower AF perhaps, but I found that camera dependent, as well.
So, mine is not for sale. I bought if s/h and at least 30.000 shots later it is still going strong. So I’d either get that or the 105 2.8 AF-D. Or the new one….I don’t think you could go wrong with any of them.
