hi all i have been offered a cannon eos10slr film camera with a 30-150mm lense to buy.i was just worndering if this lense would work on my cannon 40d camera if any one could offer advice it would be great. regards saber
As far as I know, all the Canon film lenses work on Canon digitals, either full or crop frame cameras, as I have a 20D I got second-hand, it is a crop-sensor and it takes both the 35-70 and 90-300 lenses I have for the Eos 300 film camera I have.
I don’t know which size sensor the 40D has, but if it uses EF-S lenses, then its the smaller sensor, but it will take the EF lenses too, but the EF-S lens will not work on the film camera, its something to do with the EF-S being designed for the smaller sized sensor.
As far as I know, all the Canon film lenses work on Canon digitals,…
… for the EOS system , or with “EF” mark (same :-) ) , Previous system in Canon had a “FD” bayonet, and this system does not work with digital cameras :-), without special connectors :-)

I should have said that I meant the Eos film lenses work on the Eos digitals, I haven’t used a Canon older than the Eos 300, sorry about that
