this is 2 exposures blended . one for sky and one for everything else. unfortunately it suffers very badly with noise

this one i just liked the colours more than anything :-)shutterbugParticipantTwo nice shots Dallan, particularly the first, the lovely pastel tones and the
little castle in the distance is very pleasing on the eye. Agree the second is
punchier with slightly stronger colours but doesnt have the same appeal for me
anyway.bieglyParticipantzeddicusMemberNo. 1 for me, A fantastic scene. Could be a painting almost with the all round soft colours of both the sky and foreground complimenting each other and deserves to be printed bigger the better. A winner alright, beautiful ! well done Dallan. The second although framed beautifully is slightly dark to me, could be my monitor? But HEY! how could it compete with number one!!

markclehaneParticipantAt this size it’s not really obvious how much noise is affecting the first image but it’s a stunning shot and if possible deserves to be treated to some noise reduction. The majority of the image is naturally soft anyway so I doubt NR would have an adverse affect. I’ll echo Aidan’s comments about it being almost painterly and also that it would be better displayed at a larger size.
The second shot is good as well but only stands to highlight the first one :D One tiny thing…. I’d clean up that bit of seaweed or twig that’s creeping into the foreground. Incidentally, it looks bright enough on my screen anyway.
Cheers,
Markjodal1975Participantthanks for the kind words everyone…
thats classibawn castle jenny , someone else had a snap of it up here recently, with benbulben in the background.
ive just gone back and redone number one and managed to get rid of a good bit of the noise …ill get it printed at the weekend aiden , then ill know!
number 2 is definitely much weaker ( i actually have another one shot from that angle , which i think is nicer…so im not sure why i posted this one)..mark , i didnt even notice the seaweed , god bless your eyes :-) i shall do that tonight!
its funny the difference in tones and colour of the 2 shots . they were shot within 15 mins of each other on the same beach, although facing in opposite directions.insertnamehereParticipantVery nice Dallan. I actually prefer the second, I love when the light hits the water like that and its something I look for a lot. I would brighten up the portion on the left though to balance the photo out. Where are you finding these sunsets by the way?!
Mark.
jodal1975Participantthere was a beautiful sunset tuesday eve mark …..your not looking hard enough ! :-)
