20D or 400D?

  Hi folks

  I have the opportunity to pick up one of these bodies for approximately the same price and I am wondering which would be the better body to go with?

  I have scanned the Internet for reviews and they say that there is little to choose between the pair, if anything the 20D seems better due to body construction, better fps etc.

  I would appreciate any advice or experience that people have had.

  Hi Paul,

  I used the 20D for over 5 years from it’s release in 2004.
  I then bought a used 40D from a member here.
  My son has used the 20D since then (As a work camera) and sees no need to get anything else.

  I am not familiar with the use of the 400D but I would have researched it’s predecessorsin 2004 before deciding on the 20D.

  Assuming that the condition of both cameras is similar I would pick the 20D.
  I liked the more pro feel to the body.
  I preferred the controls and their layout.
  I like the menu controls with the thumbwheel etc.

  Without a doubt, the 20D. I used to have one, and it’s a lovely camera. Much better than the 400D.
