Hi Andy, I am not selling but just thought you might like to know something about
the two lenses, I have the Sigma version and I love it, it is about half the size and
weight of the Nikon equivalent …. and also half the price! Both are outstanding
lenses, my Dad has the Nikon version and he sometimes struggles with weight of it
(he is 82 today!) I can get some good shots handheld with the Sigma but mostly use
it on a stand or tripod, I think you would struggle with the Nikon handheld unless you
have muscles like Popeye! even with VR, it is a beast of a lens. But as I say both are
excellent and you will be more than pleased with either.
Mifsuds in the UK have a Nikon version for sale £3399 (they are good suppliers)
I’m swaying towards the Nikon 300mm f2.8. Don’t really need a VR version as most of my shooting is at speeds of 1/1000th sec and VR only slows the lens down a tad. I’ve seen a few on Ebay recently, selling for around £2100, which ain’t bad!!!
