Hi all , i have been asked to provide 15 pictures for a book that will be published in Ireland and other countries (happy days)
but i dont exactly know how to price it !! what questions do i need to ask to make sure i price it right! anyone any ideas it would be much appricieated! thanks Eamonn
the greater the value to the buyer the greater the price, territory of use? duration of use? media? possibly volume as well? but unless you are very good if you quote too high they will just get someone else to do similar images
As long as your content is good, prices a little higher is acceptable. :D
Problem is, the images have not yet been produced – so putting a price on the unknown is never going to be easy and/or straight forward – as there are more than 100 different ways to shoot any subject.
But as Brian pointed out, the 3 main things to say focused on, when negotiating the fee are: the Media use (which you already know), the Period of use and the Territory of use.
The more they want to use your images, the greater the value will be to them – and so that’s what you go by, to help you determine what their budget might be.
