Canon 50mm F1.2L

    Hi
    I have decided to sell my 50mm F1.2L. The lens is around 4 years old and comes boxed with soft pouch, lens hood, front and rear body caps.
    This lens is in NEW condition and has no marks whatsoever either on the body or glass.

    I bought a 24mm 1.4L and an 85mm 1.2L mark II at the same time and I’m selling because I hardly use it compared to the other two. This is a fantastic lens, but it does take a bit of getting use to if you use it above F2 where the DOF in miniscule.

    I’m looking for €1,350.00 shipped or 1,300.00 collected (Letterkenny, Co. Donegal). Flickr link below:

    PS. I took these pic at work, unfortunately the box and front lens cap are at home.

    Is this still available? Might be interested, looking at a few lenses and wonder if I should be considering this. Thanks

    Hi sidefx

    Yes I still have the lens, I assume that you viewed the photos; as you can see it’s in perfect condition, there are a few scuff marks on the lens hood (which is plastic). I have a 24, 35 and 85 lenses so I really don’t use it a lot. Using this lens a it’s max 1.2 aperture give you extremely shallow dof. It’s a fantastic low light lens.

    Regards

    I just noticed the age on this lens. 4 years is a fairly long run with this piece of kit. It looks clean and everything, but Mr.Kerso is selling these new for around 20euro more than your asking price. The most I would offer would be 900 and we could talk postage after that. And just so you know I’m not trolling: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/BRAND-NEW-CANON-50MM-1-2-L-LENS-SCOTLAND-/200698195569?pt=UK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses&hash=item2eba8b6e71#ht_648wt_1139″ onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

    I think 900 is a more than fair offer so let me know asap as I’m spending up all my savings a 5Dmk2 and lens

    Hi

    Thanks but, no I would not consider letting it go for that kind of money. With regards to Mr. Kelso, although the address in in Scotland (and correct me if I’m wrong), this lens is shipped from Hong Kong. So you are libel to pay VAT 23% on top of the advertised price (€1,691) if it’s intercepted by customs.

    afraid not danny, myself and many others im sure from boards and PI.net have and continue to order from kerso and there is no import duty nor is the item shipped form hong kong. I bought an 11-16mm 2.8 tokina for 520euro i think it was. Arrived 3 days later seeing as the items are in fact in scotland already. Anyway im sure you can understand that your lens might be precious to you and in great condition, but its 4 years old and has no warranty or support should there be back/front focus or other issues. My offer of 900 will stand for a few more days but ill be making a decision this weekend, and I would never be able to justify such a price on a 4 year old piece of glass. Even conns had a second hand 50 listed for 1K and that would have had a 6 month warranty with them, so your price is unrealistic. Let me know if you change your mind

    Hi
    Thanks for the offer, but unless I get near the asking price I’m not
    that interested in selling the lens.

    Again thanks for the offer.
