I am looking for rechargeable batteries for speedlite 580ex. Do you know which are the best rechargeable for speedlite 580 EX? I need to know which are the best. I can’t afford to buy AA batteries pack.
I have been using the own-brand ones from 7dayshop for years, with no problems. However, I do use a a really good Maha charger – which is also important. The main advantage (really, the only advantage) of eneloop-type batteries is that they hold their charge for longer. The disadvantages are lower capacity and higher cost. I might buy a set at some stage as a backup, but otherwise see no need for them.
If you don’t want to buy the official Canon CP-E4 battery pack, then I would suggest you try one of the Yongnuo-brand ones via ebay. I have looked at a few different clones, and these seem to be the best constructed, and are fairly reasonably priced.
I second 7dayshop, I have their own brand rechargeable batteries, which are the same as
eneloop, ie hold their charge, they are fast charging and I have had them in the Nikon SB600
flash for about 4 months without a recharge, (now I wouldnt be using it everyday!) a fraction
of the price of eneloops too, worth buying.
