Is it a landscape?

  Hi everyone :)

  I am not good with landscape photography (never done that before) and that is my first post on the site.
  Honestly i do not even know if it is qualified as a landscape but…here we go :)
  Oh yes…and I am looking for a serious critigue :) So… have a go at me – i want to learn! :)

  Hi Alexandra, welcome to Photography Ireland.

  I actually really like this shot, is it a landscape? Well maybe, it sure has some landscape feel and some historic or architectural elements. I like the way you composed the shot and the way the light hits the trees bringing great shades of green. The image seems a bit over exposed on the ground just past the trees but was very hard to do any better with that harsh light, the thing is though its that same harsh light that brings the green leafs to pop so much.

  I’ve been to Birr Castle a few times myself and I had never seen this composition! Its a great first shot and look forward to see more of your photos in here.

  Welcome to the site :) I would say landscape, you cant really see enough of the
  building for it to be architecture. Nice composition but on my screen the building
  has a blue caste and I think if you pulled back on the blue saturation a bit it would
  look better, just an opinion of course!

  I was actually prepared for a lot of criticizm (as i certainly do not believe in myself) but many many thanx for your opinions!

  Rodcunha, you are right, that was aroung 3pm and very sunny day so light was really harsh. Not a golden hour yet unfortunatelly. I took this shot just after I went through the entrance gate with 2 lamps next to it. I already love this place, have to say. It has such a potential for portraits and wedding photographs :)

  Shutterbug, yes there is a blue cast on the building :) I could change it but i do not why exactly – like it really :) like the way “it goes” with light green colour of the trees.

  Once again, thanx for opinions – i thought no one likes me for a while ;)
