Sunrise in Wicklow mountains

I really like the color version here, foreground is nice and sun light on hills really look great in the color version. Maybe a better sky would improve the image but we all know that our mountains are covered in mist 90% of the time.
Dave.
lousyParticipantThe colour version is really nice. Lovely scenery throughout and a beautiful place to visit for photography. The place is much too beautiful and for me that is the reason the b&w doesn’t work.
Pat
shutterbugParticipantColour version for me too! When it first opened on the B & W version I thought ahh would
be nice to have seen it in colour, scrolled a bit more and hey presto :) Nice one!texMemberIf there was ever a case needed to show the superior quality of B&W to colour , you have made it here. The B&W shot is full of atmosphere and feeling while the colour shot is just colour and suitable for the lid of a box of chocolates. Of course I hasten to add this is just my opinion.
SeaviewParticipantThis could be an interesting post, 3 to 1 at the moment, I wonder what other people think. :) :)
Dave.
AnonymousParticipantI would normally be an advocate of B&W but for me, this image just doesn’t do it.
I prefer the colour.bieglyParticipantThank’s guys
I had the difficult weather conditions to shoot before I took this picture it snow!
It was very windy and I hid behind this rock ;)Regards
RafiSeaviewParticipantBrave man leaving a camera on a tripod on the top of a mountain in a howling wind, I would have took the camera with me.
Dave.
Paul WhParticipantTwo great images but I would go with the B&W too, when I saw the title I thought another colour sunrise and was gonna skip by but was glad when I clicked and saw the B&W, the colour does nothing at all for me, IMO, fair dues for braving the weather, too many photographers snuggle up in bed when the wind howls, including myself of course.
jodal1975Participantall though i usually prefer colour landscape shots i have to say i definitely favor the b+w in this case. it makes for a much more dramatic and moody shot . nice one !

Covered it all really.

I would probably agree re; the lid of a box of chocolates :) but there have been many beautiful landscapes on chocolate boxes. This is only my opinion here as I see nothing in the b&w, I cannot wander throughout the image and smell the fresh air, the grass the countryside as I can with the colour…no comparison IMO.
