Hi im new to this site i stumbled upon this site when looking for places to photography in Ireland. I just graduated from college with a degree in photography and as a graduation gift my parents are taking me to Ireland ( my dream place to go). we are going in may. What are some good places to take landscape photos. I want anything and everything I like shooting sunrise and sunsets and daytime if its a good location but where we are staying i don’t know what kind of images i will get. some of the places i am staying are Dublin, Wicklow, Kilkenny, cashel, Kinsale, Killarney, Dingle, Doolin, Galway. I would really like some slow motion water shots as well but not sure where i can find the place to take them. I would also like shots that are i guess the way i describe it would be sun ray’s coming through trees/forests. I’m in Ireland for 2weeks. so any info would be great. Thanks
The Kew TourMemberphotoluv54, it looks like you are going to be doing a lot of travelling during your 2 weeks here. Everywhere you have mentioned will give you great shots. Ireland was made for landscape photographers and artists. Go to Glendalough when you are in Wicklow, the Cliffs of Moher are near Doolin and there are good day trip boats based there that can bring you to the base of the cliffs and the Aran Islands. There are so many places for you to take photos off. My advice for you is to look at some of the websites that you can find on this website. There are some excellent landscape photographers here that will hopefully provide you with a bit of inspiration. Good luck with your trip.

brownieParticipantDefinately check out the beaches and mountains in Waterford…Woodstown, Tramore, Dunmore, Passage, Annestown, Benvoy, Clonea, Ardmore, the list is endless and then you have Mahon Falls in the Comeragh Mountains…you will need a year to see everything.
Is it early or late may you are coming ? if its early May the bluebells will be in full bloom.
Closer to the date of your arrival just post here again and I am sure we can give more detailed answers to some of your questions.Regards,
Noel Browne.looneykParticipantI woulld have to agree that Glendalough is definetly a place to go for pics. I am originally from Cork but now living in Naas but love going to Glendalough with my camera in hand. It can be a busy tourist spot but you will be there at a good time of the year. Entry is free to this area but plenty of wooded area and the lakes there can be a fantastic spot at the right time of the day and with the right weather so fingers crossed you get some good weather.
In Kerry head for The National Park and take a trip further up the road to Molls Gap, great landscape pics up there on a good day. Your up a big height and the view is fantastic. Gougane Barra in Cork is another great location with the small church surrounded by a lake. Windy road up there but well worth the drive. Surrounded by a forrest so plenty of scenic pics
