Which B&W film developer do you use?

thefizzParticipant
For those of you who develop your own B&W films, can you please tell me which developer you use mostly?
When I opened http://www.thephotoshop.ie, I initially decided to stock some of the common developers such as Rodinal, Rodinal Special, Tmax, Xtol as well as some staining and two-bath contrast compensating developers. I am now planning to increase the number of developers I will stock so I’m interested to hear what you are using.
Thanks,
PeterThe Fine PrintMemberhi,
I guess I mostly use Rodinal, HC110, Ilfosol-S, Adotech II, DDX, Diafine, Pyro and Caffenol-C (Delta-STD), but a few others.
If I only wanted to use one, I’d choose HC110. Its easy to get carried away by the developer choice. :)MartinParticipantI just use Rodinal and Xtol these days but mostly Xtol… You stock these already which is great
HC110, D76/ID11 are probably the most common developers you have not got available in your shop… me thinks anyhow
M
texMemberdamien.murphyParticipantD76, the classic, for me. Also use diafine on the odd occasion too.
Best of luck with the online shop, great to see it going from strength to strength, and a good resource to have! :)
MarkKeymasterthefizzParticipantEddieParticipantMOPSParticipantaoluainParticipantSeoirseMemberI use Rodinal mostly, Peter.
That’s not to say that I am not partial to a bit of choice, though !
I’ll be doing a lot of fine grain work over the next while which will see me looking to get some better fine grain developers so you can expect a couple of orders for some soon.
Regards,
George.Paul WhParticipantLike a lot of the guys here I tend to use rodinal a lot, hope all is well with you Peter.
thefizzParticipantFollowing feedback received here and elsewhere, I now have ID11 and Microphen in stock.
James7ParticipantI never knew of http://www.thephotoshop.ie/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; Will be using you in the future
redtoMemberI use rodinal simply because its what was in the shop at the time, I used to use ilford (cant remember which one) but looking back over old negs I think either I got better expoures or the film/chemicals are different now. My older negs were much denser or more contrasty. maybe I need to shoot a few experemintal rolls again and develope them differently and or overexpose a bit.
