    Hi all.
Just thinking of creating a website which I could sell some of my sport pictures. Has any one used SmugMug and Zenfolio or is there any other websites similar to these. What is your opinion and recommendations and past experiences.
    All replys very much appreciated,
    Thanks Michael O Meara

I have accounts on both – but prefer Smugmug (they have great customer support).

Smugmug used to have US$/US printing only, but they have now done a deal with Loxley Colour in the UK – so professional quality prints can be sold via the site. Smugmug also allow much more site customisation (but this can lead to increased complexity in tweaking).

Both of them have trial periods – so you can try for yourself.

Thanks Frank for the reply. Yes I have the trial version of both of them. Smugmug seems to have a better user interference and more smoothier to work with. But there also 50euro more expensive and to be honest I am only new at this business and am trying to keep my set up costs as low as possible. Do you know how much Loxley are charging for postage to Ireland for smallish prints 10 by 12 or so. Because my trial version wont let me choose the Loxley Labs.
    Thanks.

Loxley is just being added tonight! Have a look again over the next few days.

Have a smugmug account myself and, on the whole, I must say I’m fairly disappointed with it. Yes Loxley is an improvement but the shipping charges are ridiculous, also the percentage they ‘take’ off your stuff. I can’t seem to find a decent webhost where you can just pay a set amount per month and not get charged anything on top of that so the pictures can be cheaper for clients. Would love to hear what you think of any you did trials with though..
