Mizen Head

Hi all
I took this photo when I was visiting Mizen Head. I found this location not to far from Barley Cove on the northern part of Peninsula and taking this shot was very challenging in such conditions (strong wind). Fortunately one shot was sharp enough to use. Forgot to mention that it was taken in a midday using ND8 filter and Graduated ND filter. C&C very welcome.

lovely shutter speed in the water. great colours ….. great shot !! the only thing i might say is i would like to see it with maybe a 1/4 of sky cropped . doing so might not work …but i have a feeling it would just make a slight difference

PhatMaverick: This is an excellent location with a lot of opportunities I think the evening would be the best time of the day for photo shooting. The sun is behind you and slightly on the left in summer time.
jodal1975 and Deebo: You might be right I should do some cropping, will definitely visit this place and try again.
John (5faythe): I’m glad you like it. I was happy that I could get one shot reasonably sharp in such conditions.

I really do love everything about this shot. It’s everything I would strive to capture.. The slow speed for the water / colour / clouds and the sharpness. Sharpness is something that i seem to struggle with especially with wind / slow shutter so well done.
A beautiful image. I quite like the clouds in but would also agree that it may benefit from a slight crop.

I agree with all the above contributors, great shot…especially for time of day…sharpness, contrast, dof, etc., all spot on, I would also agree on cropping a small bit from bottom as well as top.

The only thing I can pick on is the water in the foreground – its too dark.
it looks like you have brought back the exposure – i would like to see brilliant
strong whites in the foam there!Brilliant for me!…..Would crop a small piece of the sky to perfect but this is what landscape photography is all about IMO. Well done
Well what can I say that wasn’t said already? Simply a great shot which deserves to be on the wall…
