Pity #1 is chopped but second shot is impressive, almost menacing. How did you manage to set up a tripod and compose that without scaring it off? (rhetorical question). Spent a few hours trying to snap these guys last year and managed zero shots as I never managed to get within more than a few feet of them.
Mark.
HATE all things like this, but have to admit was utterly facinated by the shot. Beautifully composed. Agree with above, #2 is best for me but only because the tail is chopped off.
Thanks all for the comments. This little Damselfly was very obliging. I was even able to trim the vegetation around it with my swiss army tool and all it did was move around slowly always trying to keep me in frontal view, never tried to fly away, a lucky one for me being able to use natural light and the tripod. I took a total of 96 shots over a period of just short of 1 hour.
It was not very warm so maybe it was sluggish and didn’t feel too threatened by the nutter with the camera :)
