Few photos of a young bird before it was swooped away by, I think, a sparrowhawk.

Well spotted. A Starling chick out of the nest like that is not going to last very long. I have seen Magpies taking them from the nest so it is quite a possibility one spotted an opportune meal :( but that is nature for you…./Mikka
Ah the poor little guy looks so sad in #3. I’ve seen a lot of dead chicks this year, which have fallen from their nests (or were pushed). That said, A nice set of images.
He certainly wasnt ready to fledge, poor little mite at least Mum/Dad was
feeding it before he eventually became food. :cry:
