Help Identifying this insect

  I was strolling along the coast in Cork this weekend and found this little body on the trail. Anyone know what it is?
  Im guessing some kind of wasp, but i cant find any definitive species via google.

  Hi, It looks like an Oil Beetle, genus Meloe……../Mikka

  Also looks like a Nuttalls Blister Beetle Lytta Nuttalli. :)

  Oil Beetle, its a blueish colour and omits an oily smell when alarmed.
