I really like that one, I love the percieved uncertainty of the bird coming in to land.
    Terrific shot!

Excellent shot Brendan, spot on. I love the sense of movement in the wings, can imagine it is executing a pinpoint landing………….Mikka

Couldn’t be done any better Brendan. The light is fantastic and the wing motion enhances the photo.

Thks everyone – I think i have now found my photographic ‘Calling’ :D – In April, I booked a trip to Iona in Scotland for last week of June – and shooting Puffins from 4am till 10:30pm for 6 days – can’t wait.

shutterbug – I was obviously taking particular attention to the Puffins Jen – and i’d say a max 25 pairs – and i’m been a little generous.
Many are still on the eggs – but some are arriving with sand eels – so some chicks in the burrows.

My advice for a Saltees trip is book a seperate, rather than the scheduled 4 hr trip (€150 per return boat trip – or 6 x €25 each) – and go out around 12 noon and come back 10pm. Declan will accomadate this request. Light is too harsh for portraits up to 6pm – but in flight is no problem. If its dull or damp turn back.

I’ll happily organise a trip – but need at least 3/4 folks who will go at a days notice – as i watch the forecasts very closely.
Hazy sunshine is best – as no harsh shadows from mid summer sun.
I will have 1 to 2 folks ready and waiting.
PM if you want to be included on standby.
