Hi Mark,
An interesting set.
I’m no expert but this is what I thought when I viewed them.
#1 is my favourite.
I get the feeling of a nice warm summer evening.
The uncluttered background is good.
Nice colour.I think the fact that the background is the same colour and texture as the main
subject in #2 causes the subject to look a little lost.
I find the in focus petals peeping in at the bottom a little distracting and I might
have been inclined to leave them out or include more of them.
The flower has lovely colour and a different background would have shown it off better.The lines and texture in #3 is very nice.
I wonder if it might have been better if everything was in focus….just a thought.Anyway well done and thanks for posting.

thanks for the comments. I know exactly what you mean about the second. It looked different in my head to what I actually ended up with :)
I agree with your comments about the 3rd shot too. I was in a situation where the leaf was moving in the wind so I had to sacrifice DOF for a a faster shutter speed to make at least some of it sharp.

really like 1 and 3 …2 just doesnt stand out against the (very similar) background enough
