wow, love that last one with the amazing green. also really cool to see the facets of the multiple eyes. seems so alien and yet so easy to personify, like a portrait of it rather than anything else. composition, lighting, depth of field, pose, everything spot on.
I’m not so mad on the yellow in the first few but thats just a personal thing, a bit too overpowering. the butterfly also quite nice but just not as striking in my opinion…

I was surprised at how close the butterfly allowed me to get ( I only had an MP-E 65mm with me & it wouldn’t focus any further back) & then I noticed it was missing one of its antenna. This may have affected its ability to sense me being there, as it didn’t fly away but walked around in circles. I agree the flower isn’t the best background for the fly, I might try to de-saturate the colours in it. The flower bettle was a bit difficult to photograph due to it flying amongst the high grass. I was lucky it landed in an area with a clear view of him.
