eccles1990ParticipantIsabellaParticipant
have you got a camera with the infrared filter removed or did you put the color in post production?
theres a wee blue spot (looks like diffraction) about half way up the sky on the left.
also not sure i like the blue haze on the rear tree, having said that if it is as shot it makes it a bit more interesting.all in all though if it was not an IR shot would you look at it for more than 15 seconds?
aoluainParticipantwell its different, initially i thought it was a long exposure under moonlight .
to me it doesnt look infrared though.
eccles1990Participantnope that is as it was shot with my hoya ir filter and custom white balance, then wit a slight sharpen in light room, and the blue spot is flaring from the setting sun that came into my lens , and well yes i would look at it for more than 15 seconds because I’ve sold 10 a3 size framed photos of it in black and white
IsabellaParticipantIsabellaParticipantnever realized you could get color in shooting though without using color IR film or having a converted camera, just figured red was red. quite interesting, ill give it a go and see what happens. thanks, sorry if i was rude
texMemberYou must remember that this is digital infrared which is totally different from analog infrared. It has few of the characteristics that one normally associates with film results.
eccles1990Participantindeed it is totally different than film, ir in my mind this is fake ir as i learned on film, and isabella you weren’t rude its a crit some people like it some don’t all opinions count and are taken into consideration,
Time Passing Bye by S&E designs, on FlickrIsabellaParticipantthe B+W one is a lot more clean and classical so I’m not so surprised its sold so many times. the diffraction is a lot less obvious in fact it probably helps enhance the sense of distance between the two trees, although to be honest i would probably clone out the wee spot near the left border myself but its a very minor detail and maybe only because i know its there from seeing the other one.
the first is a bit more alien invasion B movie if you know what i mean. very interesting for me in a production way but not really my cup of tea visually.
