Accounting software

    Hi,

Needed to find an Irish photography forum for a few queries so I’m confident somebody here will be able to help me somewhat. I have my income/expenses inputted into a simple enough profit and loss excel spreadsheet. Nothing fancy at all, tracks monthly amounts etc. Does the trick but I’m wondering do I need something else, something more substantial? Anybody here use Quickbooks or Kashflow?

Also, for capital allowances I just grab this figure from a list of equipment etc that I have and multiply this by 12.5%. Should I be creating a balance sheet or would this be unnecessary?

Don’t earn enough to declare for VAT before somebody asks!

I’m in exactly the same situation as PabloP and currently need some form of accounting software for my photography business.

I looked at LightBlue, which would be very handy apart from it doesn’t have an option to complete a full set of accounts on it and I don’t want to waste time duplicating information. I’m also on a mac so this restricts options. Any ideas peeps?

Do you have an accountant? If so, ask them what they use or what they can accept. I use a simple income/expenses in a record book. My accountant sorts the rest at end of year. I use Quickbooks Simple Start, but just for myself to check stuff.

I use Light Blue and it exports pretty good information to Excel.

Pretty good piece of Photography Business software.
