    Here are a few shots of the inside of Benbulben Barite Mine in Sligo. It was very dark in here so had to make do with torch light.

    Hope you all like. These shots were taken with my old Sigma 10-20mm on a 40D

    I like the 2nd one – very unusual location and I’m sure dangerous and not easy to find

    cool, I know a similar location in tipperary. amazing places i love it underground. are there many accessible tunnels?

    Second shot is really good, you wounder what is at the end of the tunnel. Where abouts is that mine? I’m from Sligo and never heard of it…

    Thanks for the feedback guys, its up on the mountain between Glencarr Lake and Gleniff Hourseshoe. You will see the start of the bucket towers beside the lake and they go up the steep face of the mountain, keep following them and you will get there. The mine complex is huge and great care must be taken when inside.
