This is my first picture post on here but I’d love some thoughts on this style. I’m usually a client led shooter but recently I’ve been trying to find my own way that’s less studio/posed to capture children and families. I want to try and show 5 minutes in time of how things were for that family, at that time rather than the eyes nose and mouth placement of a child’s face as it looks at a camera. It may be a lofty way to describe the series of what are basically snapshots below but I find as my own children are getting onder I am more drawn to this kind of lifestyle photography. Any cc much appreciated.
These are refreshing and beautifully soft befitting the subject. Well taken Lynn. I especially like the 4th shot. The 2nd black and white is a little blown in relation to highlights BUT that is just nit picking. Lovely set . Looking forward to seeing some of your stuff, if this set is anything to go on.
Really nice set of images, they sit together really well and would look lovely in
one of those big frames with lots of apertures in, or even a collage.
Fourth and second last are great, in fact they are all great :) I especially like the soft natural light from the large window
agree with Jenny a collage type framed photo would be perfect for these to see together.
Thanks everyone! I was thinking of maybe making a little book with a couple of 5 min shoots from the year. They don’t really stand up on their own so would have to be seen together.
RAS I see you what you mean. I had purposely over exposed them all to blow the ugly railings outside the window but in that one of them hugging it affects the sizes of their heads as they disappear into the white :)
