Correct me if Im wrong please, Im only asking because I heard it off a tutor that this was possible.
Im looking to name the process where you can use digital images, to create a film “negative” that can then be printed as film. Im not 100% sure if thats an accurate way of putting it but I heard about this a while back and didnt think much about it til recently.
Does anyone know what its called, or if anyone in Dublin offers the printing services for this?
Think your talking about a “paper negative” used allot you basicaly print a digital inverted version of your picture then place it on top of darkroom paper and shine light through the paper negative with the enlarger. Dony know anyone that will do do if for you im afraid…
you’re right, digital negatives do get done and it is an interesting angle on saving, archiving and reproducing important images, or just for using photosensitive paper to print digital images. Anyway, a simplified approach, if you’re keen on making digital negatives yourself is e.g. described here: http://www.digital-negatives.com/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;
Wow, thanks TFP, I really appreciate the information, same for Martin, I knew there was a name on it but I had no clue what it was :)
The reason I ask is because Im planning a project as part of college and I think since Im mainly a digital photographer that this would give it a nice twist, because I LOVE working in the darkroom but my film camera has seen better days and my Pentax is nackered.
