My first attempt at a “Planet” was quite pleased with it. Nine shots
    panorama-ized and 10 mins photoshopping.

An unusual approach to a landscape shot ….. I like it ! :-) could you explain how you took the shots jenny

Thanks jodal, I took a full 360 degree panorama consisting of about 11 shots,
starting with the stone and ending with the stone, with a good overlap between
shots, then when the shots are all stitched and finished, rotate the image so that it
is upside down and resize so that it is the same length and width. You end up with a
square that is stretched. Then go into Filter>Distort>Polar coordinates and OK.
Then just tidy up the join with a bit of cloning.

Clever technique and I love the way the post is projecting out of the planet. Must admit I’ve never seen this technique before.

Cheers guys, must say I like the effect, I can imagine all sorts of things
that would lend itself to this treatment.

Oh, that is classy, Jenny! :) Something new to this forum anyway (that I’ve seen). To be honest, when I read the title, I was expecting a round image, yes, but also something really colourful. Sorry, if this comes off too much, as I can imagine how much work might have gone into doing this already! You’ve caught the right landscape to do this anyway, love the patchy fields :)
