Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) dolinaParticipant June 14, 2014 at 3:41 am Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) by alabang, on Flickr The little egret (Egretta garzetta) is a small white heron. It is the Old World counterpart to the very similar New World snowy egret. In Botswana, it is known as the yellow-footed egret. There’s a small colony of these quite close to me but they’re proving very difficult to photography.
