Very simply to take some photos :)
2012 was a bit of a photographic wasteland for me for the most part. Didn’t make a PI gathering which was a first :(
However did have a great trip with PI-er jungle to an abandoned factory that was enjoyable.IsabellaParticipant:D quite ambitious really:
continue exploring the world of pinhole photography…
continue experimenting with 5×4 , E6 and color processingI’ve gotten an antique lens with a slot for waterhouse stops which i want to build a large format camera around…
finish setting up my darkroom (at the moment just a shed with 4 basins on the floor and a 6×6 enlarger) i.e. start building in worktops etc
for the beginning anyway, we’ll see how far i get with all of that!
aoluainParticipantmark – yes I didnt do too much myself, shot about 15 rolls and a couple packs of film.
planning to do more next year . . . .isabella – wow thats ambitious, i like the sound of the darkroom and that 5×4 !
will be interesting to see how it turns out.
I was looking at those crown graphic’s and they are kinda inexpensive, but im not willing
to invest into another system at the moment.I think I would try and do a wet plate colloidon course in 2013, i really love the look of that
process.IsabellaParticipantya, collodion would be amazing i love all the flaws you can get (Sally Mann-esque). one day! think I’ve enough to get on with for the mo though, maybe when i have a plate camera and a working darkroom!
bigalguitarpickerParticipantI’d like to improve generally in my photography! I didn’t get to develop a style ( or even a favourite theme!) of my own while studying as a mature student. Always shooting to a study brief. For those who don’t know me, I became a born-again photographer, thanks to digital. Enrolled on a few courses, got interrupted by illness, dropped out for two years, dropped back in and completed my studies. Ended up with a degree in Creative Imaging (got the good news on my 61st birthday!) I never have as much time as I’d like for photography, wanting to expand on my music interests, and doing lots of babysitting with my clutch of grand-daughters – one 3 yr old and 8 month old twins. Even though I’ve gained qualifications, I still see myself as that mature student I mentioned earlier. Currently I shoot landscapes mostly centred on ancient sites and statues, but I’m interested in plenty of other subjects. Hoping to get out for sunrises and sunsets and to improve on my Photoshop skills, with particular respect to digital artworks. And go fishing.
johnhigParticipantFinish building the darkroom and learn how to print, also want to learn wet plate collodian too. Sounds very interesting. And as already said go fishing..
markst33ParticipantHoping to go for my LIPF. Have not taken that many photos in 2012 due to new baby in the house and breaking my leg :)
Mark S.
aoluainParticipantjeez mark, sorry about the leg and congrats on the new arrival.
good luck with the LIPF.
On the wet plate collodion technique, maybe a PI workshop gathering would be something for 2013 ?

Now that sounds like a plan…

There seems to be a few PI members interested in wet plate collodion so I just want to give you a heads up on the next scheduled workshop date which is Saturday 9th March. I’ll wait a few days before informing those on my mailing list to give members here a chance to book if interested. Its a popular workshop which usually sells out quickly.
