I am hoping to get down to Glendalough over the christmas break to get some landscapes / lowlight done.

When is the best time of the day to go down there ? Sunrise or Sunset ?

    Mark.

    Hi Mark
I use a website called http://www.suncalc.net to plan photo trips. You can select your location, date
etc and it will show the sunrise and sunset times and positions and some other info. There are also numerous
apps etc for smart phones that will do this.

I’m presuming you want to photograph the lakes so I just checked a few dates over the holidays
and it looks like sunset might be best. When using these tools you also need to bear in mind the
terrain. Trees, Mountains etc might block light !!
There are a few PI-ers that live in the area so they may reply with more/better info.
    Hope this helps.
    Martin.

    Hi Mark,

Sunrise and sunset both are the best times for capturing the landscape into the camera. I would have taken the picture on both the times to be very true. This is what I have felt and learned, rest remains on you.

    Cheers,
    Paddy
