Photojournalism advice?

    Hey, guys and girls.

I’m doing a photography course at the mo and one of the assignments it to take a photo of something you can tell a story about. Think of it as a photojournalism piece where you are responsible for the picture and the accompanying words.

My question is this: Should I just go out, take a picture and then make up a story for that picture or should I try to find an interesting topic to write about and take a picture to match?

    Hi Neon Jedi

If it was me I’d take a walk and just soak in the area and let my mind ramble on about everything that Im looking at
once I’ve spotted something that inspires me with more than a one liner Id snap a few shots and when I get back I’d go back through my images and pick the shot that really conveys the story in my head.

    but that’s just me

Well I guess if its photojournalism, then you should pick a subject which you are interested/passionate in and take
    it from there.
