The stars of modern sport were once very small, very committed and very much in the background of media coverage. I’m personally involved at underage level in a local league here in Waterford and try to cover as many games as possible through the season, the resulting pics are used by the league/club PROs to spruce up their written newspaper reports. The quality and type of the pics can be very different to what is seen and accepted at adult level and the kids themselves love to see their photos in the weekly papers or online on club websites. Makes them feel that they are appreciated. The games themselves can be hilarious to watch, like flocks of sheep all chasing the ball at the same time, no real understanding of positioning involved.
Comments and critique are requested, these few here will be in local papers from next Weds. and the parents and players will be busily cutting them out for scrapbooks…hopefully! Might even sell a few hi-res ones as well! These were taken yesterday with Canon 1D Mk 2 N and 70-200 f4 L lens.
But, looking down on players, especially under-age players just doesn’t work well.
I love the facial expressions of the kids. Always full of life and emotion.
Keep at it.
Thanks Paul. Getting out of the “standing shooting” scenario is a problem I am trying to overcome, though one of the posted ones was actually a “croucher”! Thanks again for the feedback and I am def gonna stick at it. G
