I think the Kaiser ring flash is in fact a LED “non-flash” in other words its a constant light source and not a flash. For macro use it would limit you to shutter speeds, you would have to use high ISO to obtain the correct speeds for your aperture you use, because you are using the one source or light ( you cant dial down the power, i.e. 1/2,1/4,1/16 etc).
I found a tutorial on YouTube, its in Italian ,but you get the idea of what I am trying to say.
