I am looking to use my old 35mm SLR.

I do not want to pay others to develop my photos, that is what I have always done. I am now more interested in developing my photos.

I would like to know what I need etc! Is there any text books I could read?

I am yet to see a Dummies book on this, maybe there is a market space there.

    its very simple!

just a few bits of hardware and chemicals to invest in and away you go!

1.] Developing tank and reel – to develop the exposed film in. It will enable you to
pour in the chemicals, pour them out again etc. without affecting the film inside.
2.] Changing bag – to transfer the exposed film from the camera and/or canister
into the developing tank without being affected by the light.
3.] Thermometer – the regulate and check temperature of the chemicals.
4.] Graduated mixing container – to mix the developer and fixer chemicals correctly
    by milliliters.

Thank you or your replies. I will look into both the book and the courses. Both of them will keep me going for a while.
