I know a lot of you hate HDR especially when it “pushed” but I don’t care :)

    Hi Mark,

I like the look of this.
To my eye it looks like a very good night shot.

Personally I think photographers should do whatever they are happy with themselves.
I’m no expert on HDR but I would not have thought this HDR had you not mentioned it.
Either way what does it matter.

    Nice one,

    John.

Thanks John. I have seen some interesting discussions regarding HDR on this and other sites and it seems to have the “marmite” factor. I am a fan I have to admit. Especially for images taken at the height of the midday sun when you are supposed to wait til the golden hour :)

This shot doesn’t have the normal HDR look so unless you said it I doubt I would have copped it. However, the clouds seem a bit strange to me. They appear to be pin sharp whereas the tops of the mountains aren’t. As both are a good distance from the camera I would have expected them to have the same sharpness. Maybe it’s because I’m expecting this to be a long exposure shot and usually clouds display motion blur in these.

Good spot fergus. There were no clouds in the sky so i was experimenting with cloud brushes in ps. Nothing wrong with your eyes :)

Not overdone at all, and I do like it, I also noticed something strange with the clouds, nothing
I could put my finger on though! maybe it was they look like white fluffy clouds but are
not white! Nice overall image though.
