These look a little over exposed & there is nothing really in them to give an indication of the location.

I like the second one. Nice old feel to it and I like the low contrast background, looks like it could be a street shot from the 40’s.

    Hi Adrian,

    I like 2 & 3. #2 more so.
I get a feelgood feel from it probably due to the nice happy expressions of the couple in the foreground.

I like the scene in #3. The nice old looking building with people relaxing.
    I’d like to be there.

#1 is not really saying much to me.
The portions of people in the frame don’t help me especially the persons back intruding on the rhs.

#4 is the type of image that I know little about.

    Thanks for posting.

    John.

Thanks for the C&C John,Niall, John

John 17 – I had a look at the histograms…. a bit flat mid tones to highlight alright.
It was very overcast when I was there, with a watery sun powering through… left filters at home.

John, Would like to get into Street, it quite intrigues me, however I don’t know anything about it….. must do some reading.
I don’t know what are the do’s and don’t, with No. 1 I was trying to get impression of people browsing, maybe should have slow shutter speed down and introduced some motion blur?

    Niall, Thanks for the comment.

    A.

    Thanks
    Adrian

I like to do a little street photography but it is difficult.
I feel that you have to disconnect yourself from yourself if that makes any sense?
You have to be raw & sometimes intrusive about what you’re shooting but also involved with your subjects.

Just a short docu’ on it.

I know exactly what you are trying to say.

There was a pic on here from a street walk in the liberties, one of the shots was of a couple pushing a buggy with a small child, the man in the shot was as rough looking as anything, staring down the lens…… Obviously telling the photographer to F off.

If that was me I would have lacked myself…… Unfortunately I can’t find the post.

    Cheers.

I must admit that I thought that it was against the law in France to photograph people unawares. If this is so I guess you were lucky to get away with it.

In my opinion this is incorrect Tex! Can you imagine then the issues trying to photograph in Paris & all
its world famous locations. I’m not a legal guru by any stretch but I’ve attached a link if you with to read through it.

Reference, the Princess what ever her Name is?

You cannot take a photo of an individual if there is an expectation of Privacy, i.e. it would be illegal to take a photo of someone in their garden behind a 20 ft wall.

Therefore in the street you do not have an expectation of privacy.

Check youtube Photographers in London taking back the street.
