I have been a big fan of Don McCullin photography for years, not always very comfortable with some of the graphic war images but always felt he was an outstanding and honest photographer. He did a super book called “Homecoming” UK images, graphic dark and bleak 35mm images from industrial communities in Britain, a great book. For 35mm he used the original Nikon F’s my favourite film camera he handprinted all his own work. In later years he started doing more landscapes and still life using an old Mamiya Press camera.
Anyway there is a quality DVD made in 2012 about him and his work, it is quite graphic and includes a lot of war images but is well worth checking out, I I have included a review and a link to the DVD, I got a Blue Ray for under a £10. The BBC have shown it earlier this year but not sure when it will be broadcast again.
