Spotted this scene just down the road from my home a few weeks back.
Did use a polariser this time.

    Thanks for looking,

    John.

    Hi John,

I like th colours in this but as an image its not really doing it for me. In a weird way I think it might be a better image without the distraction of (not even sure what it is) black bits :)

I find my eye is drawn to then and then my eye follows them and out of the frame. If they were angled in such a way that my eye was drawn towards the middle of the image it might work better.

    just my opinion.

Hi John, im kind of with Mark on this, although i would leave the timbers in as without them the image would lose that bit of subject in it IMO. still nice colors in water and sand. pity there wasnt a little boat floating by :)

    Hi Mark,

Many thanks for taking the time to comment.

The “black bits” is a groyne. They are placed at intervals along the beach in Rosslare in an attempt to prevent coastal erosion.

You may have answered the questions that were rattling round in my head re this.
This scene caught my eye because of the colours.
The image posted is a crop. (I have posted the original below for reference)
I cropped it because I had doubts whether the original worked, apart from the colour.

Your analysis of the image makes sense to me.

Mabe a crop in the other direction, without the groyne, might work……
Maybe I should just go back and have another go…
I’ll be doing that anyway. :)

    Thanks again.

    Hi Sirvad,

I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Yes it might lose something without the timbers although sometimes colour as a subject can work.

As I said in my repy to Mark I had some doubts about the image.

    It’s great to get feedback.

    Many thanks,

    John.
