Photoshop CS6

SeaviewParticipant
Just wondering are many people using CS6, I’m thinking of purchasing it and I was wondering what people think. Also does anyone know where I get it for a good price.
Dave.
IsabellaParticipanti have used it in college… there are certain changes from cs5 that are quite nice (in the small amount that i use it)
the crop setting always has the rule of thirds and at certain points a smaller grid overlaid so you can tell without any hassle how your recomposing and where your vertical/horizontals are.
really after that the only features i use are shadow/highlight, levels, curves – these remain pretty much unchanged from cs5.
I never processed images froma digital camera there so i couldnt tell you whether camera Raw is the same. id say a lot of the changes are more about making the different pieces of the suite integrate better than they did in cs5.5
altogether the crop thingy is nice, makes things a bit quicker but if your only upgrading from cs5 i wouldnt bother… if you’re coming from further back it may be a good idea as i think there are significant differences from the older versions….
as for price im afraid i have no idea.
hope this is of some use, hopefully someone else has tested a bit more than i have knows a bit more tha
SeoirseBrennanMemberI use it a lot. Its a great program and I highly recommend it.
Lightroom 5 is also great and has many features from CS6 in it.Gortan60ParticipantSeaview wrote:

Had a trial of it and frankly, to me there was not enough there to justify upgrading. Have you ever used Lightroom? I have L5 and it’s a great workflow system, does most everything I need. Just my opinion Dave, for what it’s worth.

shutterbugParticipantLightroom 5 for me also, it is very easy to use and is totally reversible so all your images
Can be brought back to original without any loss. A fraction of the price too. It is all I use
now, never go I to PS at all.SeaviewParticipantDoes light room have layers including layer masks, I might look at moving to light room.
Dave.
shutterbugParticipantNo layers or masks, but it does have a fairly comprehensive adjustment brush that
can be used on any part or all of an image, adjusting highlights, shadows, exposure,
clarity, colour etc etc.shutterbugParticipantLaura Shoe does a very good training video on YouTube, you could download a trial run and play around
with it before you buy (Lightroom that is) plenty of online tutorials for it.clami79Participantif i was to choose one between the 2, i would go for lightroom. it’s easy, faster and i like the catalogue function. I use photoshop only when need to replace part of the image / cloning difficult areas
MarkKeymasterAdobe have reduced their pricing for Photoshop CC which includes Lightroom. Offer is until Dec 2nd
