This was taken in Norway in what is technically an enclosure in a zoo. The enclosure must have been a few acres in size, with a forest that the mother and daughter could hide in if they wanted. We were part of a private trip, escorted into the enclosure to photograph the cats as they were fed. I was waste deep in the drifts, while the cats cruised along with little effort. It was one of those “remember to breath” and “this will never happen again” moments.
Wow Aidan, another amazing image and experience. She looks like she has spotted some prey, it must have been difficult to get the exposure right with all the snow. It’s great to see images of this quality in the forum, thanks for posting.
Great shot, all the essentials of the lynx captured (the ear puffs :D). I’d be dreading the exposure as well, snow always sounds difficult, in theory. But well done, with a subject like this, you’d hardly notice to look at the snow! :D
Have you any shots that show more?
