Yesterday I took myself off to Edinburgh for the day! I got up at 4am drove to Dublin airport and boarded the 6.35 plane to Edinburgh for the princely sum of €14.99 each way! After having a leisurely breakfast I then boarded the bus to the Zoo arriving there at 9am. I then spent the next seven hours wandering around taking photos before boarding the bus back to the airport and the 7pm plane home…….today I can’t walk :

Sounds like a great day out fair play to you. was the zoo big or better in comparison to Dublin or Fota
shutterbugParticipantHi Jason, I wouldn’t say it was better than Dublin, nice to see some different animals. Some of
the enclosures were very small, especially the big cats like the Jaguars and Leopards with badly
placed glass that caught reflections, not animal or photographer friendly! Then the lions had a
huge area with great viewing areas. They do have a huge amount of animals there, like Koalas,
Anteaters, porcupines and Giant Panda (which I didn’t get to see because of the hoped pregnancy
which unfortunately was aborted)Built on the side of a hill, so pathways were very steep, I was bent double on some of them trying
to get up them without falling backwards with the weight of my gear on my back! Hence my
aching legs today. But a great adventure all the same.miki gParticipant:shock: 4a.m.? Couldn’t ye sleep? Fair play to you for your dedication Jenny. I think I’d just stay in bed til later & go to Dublin zoo.
shutterbugParticipant:D I don’t sleep very well anyway so 4am was no hardship! I am definitely a morning person.
I do Dublin zoo maybe three times a year so it was nice to see somewhere different, there are
not many places that you can fly to in a day :DsndipoMemberSounds like a good old adventure anyway :) And if nothing else, you’ve at least this one picture to say it was worth it :) Nice one!
