Hi Guy`s, i`m new here and i would like to know if anyone can help me, i`m an amateur photographer and recently i have been taking photo`s around the community where i live, my local council have seen some of my work and have asked me if i could do some photography work for them. My question is, i already have a day job so its a question about being paid by the council for my photography and paying tax as this is the way it will work with them. I have no issues whatsoever about payin tax i just need to know how i would go about it. There`s not much info on revenue.ie that i can work with so i`m hoping someone here may have already done this..Thank`s..Chris
All you need to do is submit Form 12 by the 31st October of the following year for any earnings made outside of your normal employment. Keep records of your expenses which directly relate to your photography earnings. Any profit made is the amount you will be taxed on.
