Glengarra woods, just east of Kilbeheny on the Mitchelstown to Caher road. It was in these woods that I got the photography bug, photographing the wild deer and red squirrels. I like your first image but you need to watch your sky.

Thanks dave.. its a lovely place alright..
What can I do with the sky? Apart from a graduated filter which is next on my shopping list..
I always get caught with a big plain white blob..
i just find this tine of year to get right when there isnt really much bit a big white hase to the sky.

Yes, a graduated filter or two exposures blended in Photoshop would also work. We might get some good opportunities this week with frosty mornings.

    Welcome to the forum,
As said before watch your sky which is overexposed ( use graduated ND).
on other pictures you could work on your composition ( for exemple get closer to the water, or your main subject, try to use leading lines or rule of thirds, they are a good place to start) .
Look for simple compositions, i used to try and get as much as possible in my shots , but as i go, i realise that often, less is more.
on your last shots watch your sharpness, maybe use a tripod and focus manually.
but overall your shots are not bad and it certainly is a nice location.
    philippe.
