Hi guys..
Im new to this kind of thing really.. I have been taking photos for quiet a while but stayed away from fourms…
Id like a honest opinion on my work and how I can improve it..
Thanks for taking time to read this and hope you give an opinion. :-)
blake101Participantkob877ParticipantSeaviewParticipantGlengarra woods, just east of Kilbeheny on the Mitchelstown to Caher road. It was in these woods that I got the photography bug, photographing the wild deer and red squirrels. I like your first image but you need to watch your sky.

kob877ParticipantThanks dave.. its a lovely place alright..
What can I do with the sky? Apart from a graduated filter which is next on my shopping list..
I always get caught with a big plain white blob..
i just find this tine of year to get right when there isnt really much bit a big white hase to the sky.SeaviewParticipantYes, a graduated filter or two exposures blended in Photoshop would also work. We might get some good opportunities this week with frosty mornings.
Dave.
kob877ParticipantYea I must get time to do a bit with photoshop.. im using magic lantern on my camera so most my shots are taken for a bit of playing around with hdr..hopefully we will.. one advantage to the cold days :)
CelticpicsParticipantWelcome to the forum,
As said before watch your sky which is overexposed ( use graduated ND).
on other pictures you could work on your composition ( for exemple get closer to the water, or your main subject, try to use leading lines or rule of thirds, they are a good place to start) .
Look for simple compositions, i used to try and get as much as possible in my shots , but as i go, i realise that often, less is more.
on your last shots watch your sharpness, maybe use a tripod and focus manually.
but overall your shots are not bad and it certainly is a nice location.
