Some Astro photos from my night sky hunting this year.
Fanad Lighthouse. D800, Nikon 14-24mm, ISO 3200, F2.8, 30 seconds
Doe Castle, Cresslough, Co. Donegal
Summer Milky Way, at Glenveagh National Park
D800, Nikon 14-24mm, ISO 4000, F2.8, 30 seconds
Bunbeg Wreck with Comet Panstarrs and Zodiacal Light. 6 or 7 image pano, shot at 24mm on D700. ISO 3200, f2.8, 25 seconds
These are great! I like the last one the most, I think, third one is also nice. Even the car there doesn’t bother me. Very well done :)

I should of posted the one without the jeep :oops:
Jeep belonged to a friend and we added it to the shot.These are great. I love the “summer milky way” shot. I’m keen to do some astro stuff too soon. Your shots handled noise very very well.
Really nice shots, got to say, I like the lime green window in the first pic.

Excellent shots, if you’re ever thinking of coming to Cork to shoot some stars give me shout and I’ll tag along. :lol: The last shot is definitely the pick of the bunch, even with the car.

Try this software http://www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/start” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false; I use it to plan my night shots. I map locations out every month beforehand in alignment with the Milky Way Galaxy.CormacD wrote:

I like that to, gives the image more colour. I think it was a green exit sign.

The Nikon D800 does have a lot of purple fringing in the shadows for night photography. Summer Milky Way was taken at ISO 4000, I used Nik Define for the noise reduction.
Nice work. And thanks for the settings info. as soon as this cloud cover clears Iw ant to do some of this stuff.
